Welcome to Nelson's Bitterroot Creations, a family-owned business nestled in the northern end of the Bitterroot mountain range in northern Idaho. I founded this company after being forced to leave my career during the pandemic, with a vision to create beautiful, functional pieces while staying true to our commitment to sustainability and quality.
At Nelson's Bitterroot Creations, we pride ourselves on using ethically sourced woods, often purchasing bulk "scraps" from larger privately owned woodworking companies and estate sales. While this allows us to give new life to these materials, it unfortunately means we can't avoid expensive hardwood dealers entirely. Every board we use has been milled by my own hands to ensure it meets the high standards required for our products.
In our workshop, every piece is a labor of love, made by myself with contributions from three generations of Nelsons. In fact, our spice mixes are crafted by an actual grandma, who brings both an authentic, nostalgic touch and the expertise needed to adjust recipes for optimal flavor.
We offer a diverse range of products, including cutting boards, charcuterie boards, drink coasters, cribbage boards, marble game boards, and we plan to add more items in the future. Each product is meticulously handcrafted. Please note that while many of our items are one-of-a-kind originals, each listing will specify whether the item you receive is the exact one pictured.
Please remember not to wash any wood products in a dishwasher, as this can cause catastrophic damage. Each piece is crafted with attention to detail, ensuring you receive a product that is both unique and functional.
In an effort to keep shipping costs down and reduce waste, we proudly reuse boxes whenever possible. For larger items, we may even combine boxes to create the perfect fit. It may not be the prettiest package on your doorstep, but rest assured, what's inside is top-notch! Thank you for helping us limit waste and save the planet, one ugly box at a time.
